Blast, fire again hit Azeri gas pipeline near Baku

Blast, fire again hit Azeri gas pipeline near Baku
02.01.2017 11:05
Azerbaijan's Emergencies Ministry said an explosion occurred at a gas pipeline near the capital city of Baku early on Monday in a second such incident in a week.

An explosion hit the Baku-Alat pipeline at around 0700 local time (0400 GMT), causing fire that the ministry said had been localised.

It gave no reason for the accident and there were no reports of casualties.

Last week, the same section of the pipeline was hit by explosion that led to fire, which Azeri state energy company SOCAR said was a "technogenic accident".
