Gas exports from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field up 7% in 2016

Gas exports from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field under Stage 1 of the development project amounted to 7.145 billion cubic meters ( bcm) in 2016, 7% more than in 2015, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.


"Exports from Shah Deniz accounted for 33.4% of all the gas shipped on trunk gas pipelines last year," it said.


Azerbaijan's trunk gas pipelines transported 21.348 bcm of gas in 2016, 0.8% more than in 2015.
