Azeri GDP up 2 pct in Jan yr/yr - stats committee

Azerbaijan's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 2 percent year-on-year in January 2018, the state statistics committee said on Thursday.
   
Azeri GDP increased 0.1 percent in 2017, missing a government forecast of 1 percent due to falling oil production. It shrank by 3.8 percent in 2016 but is seen increasing 1.5 percent this year due to higher oil prices.
