ADB unveils main strategy on Azerbaijan

The main strategy of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Azerbaijan in 2016-2017 was to restore macroeconomic and financial stability, support economic diversification and reforms in the field of economic policy.

Report informs, it is stated in the report on the strategic priorities for Azerbaijan in 2011-2017.

According to the document, the implementation of this strategy will be continued in 2018-2020.

The report includes the main areas which the Bank has focused in different years. Thus, in 2011-2013 these were such areas as transport, energy, water supply and sewerage, in 2014-2015 – urban infrastructure and service sector (water supply and sewerage, urban transport and solid waste management), as well as gas sector.

Over the past two years, ADB has focused on transport, including the railway, state management (government spending and fiscal management, reforms in state-owned enterprises , government debt management).
