First time in Baku: packaged honey with bar code to be shown at fair

At the upcoming honey fair, which will open in Baku in late September, an innovative approach will be applied in the sale of beekeeping products, head of the State Agro Trade Company under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture Leyla Mammadova said at a conference on the upcoming honey fair, Trend reports.

She said that for the first time in Azerbaijan, beekeeping products with a bar code on the packaging will be on showcased at the fair.

"Through this code, customers will be able to obtain information about the product,” she noted.

She added that the participation of honey producers at the upcoming fair will be paid, and will cost 150 manats.

The honey fair in Baku will be held from September 28 to October 18 this year. This is the 20th exhibition of honey, which will involve 300 honey producers. The organizers of the exhibition are the Azerbaijan Beekeepers Association, the State Agro Trade Company under the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food Safety Agency.
