The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline carried 16.75 million tonnes of oil in January-July 2020, down 11.4% year-on-year, Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee told Interfax.

Oil transported via the BTC pipeline accounted for 79.8% of oil transported through Azerbaijan's trunk oil pipelines in the period.

The pipeline transported 2.42 million tonnes of transit oil, down 11.3% year-on-year.

The BTC transports oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) group of offshore fields, condensate from the Shah Deniz deposit and, since June 2010, oil from Turkmenistan.

The BTC oil pipeline is 1,768 kilometers long and has throughput capacity of more than 50 million tonnes per year.
