From today, September 1, a COVID-19 passport will be required to enter restaurants, large shopping centers, hotels, etc., in Azerbaijan.
 
According, people over the age of 18 will be able to use the services provided indoors only if they have a COVID-19 passport.
 
If unvaccinated persons enter these facilities, the owner of the facility, but not the citizen, will be fined. Article 211 of the Code of Administrative Offenses provides a fine of 200 to 400 AZN for individuals and 3,000 to 4,000 AZN for officials for violating the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic, and quarantine regimes.
 
In addition, as of today, at least 80 percent of employees of government agencies (institutions) and employees of the following enterprises (regardless of employment or civil contracts) should be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the first dose and from October 1 for the second dose. or a certificate of immunity against COVID-19 will be required:

- all medical and pharmaceutical enterprises, regardless of the form of ownership;
- all scientific and educational institutions, regardless of the form of ownership;
 
Moreover, all persons over the age of 18 studying at higher and secondary vocational education institutions will be required to have a COVID-19 passport.

Notably, the term of the special quarantine regime in Azerbaijan has been extended until November 1.
