Israeli President calls for resumption of ties with Palestine

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has urged the Palestinian Authority to re-establish ties.

He said the meeting between him and Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was an important step in relations.

According to the Israeli President, connections with the Palestinian leadership are the right step and will benefit his country's security.

Herzog left unanswered a question about Israeli Defense Minister's unwillingness to negotiate with Palestine.
