Amsterdam airport makes wearing masks optional for passengers

The main airport in the Netherlands, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, has made the wearing of masks optional for passengers since September 25, Report informs referring to avianews.com.

The airport will no longer require observing a distance of 1.5 meters between people, but passengers are advised to give each other enough space where possible.

For travelers leaving for abroad, the new rules will be in effect until they reach boarding gate, where passes are scanned. It will still be necessary to put on a mask before entering the plane.

Passengers who arrived in Amsterdam will also have to wear masks until they enter the baggage reclaim area.

According to the new rules, from September 25, only people who have a valid COVID certificate will be able to visit cafes and restaurants in the public area of ​​the terminal in Schiphol. The certificate must confirm that the person has been vaccinated against COVID-19 or has recently tested negative.

These requirements do not apply to catering points that are located in the departure area with limited access. Only passengers who have passed aviation security control can get there.
