Azerbaijani veterans appeal to President Ilham Aliyev over Karabakh win

Today, the participants in the conference "Meeting of Generations", organized by the Organization of War, Labor and Armed Forces Veterans of the Republic of Azerbaijan, addressed the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.

The appeal reads:

"Dear President! Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief!

The 44-day Patriotic War, waged under your military-political leadership that has resulted in a great victory, has opened a new page in the life of the Azerbaijani people, fully restored not only our lands lost as a result of the Armenian occupation but also the dignity, national pride and self-confidence of our people. However, the victory of November 8 is not limited to Azerbaijan and its borders. Defeating Armenian fascism in the 44-day Patriotic War and inflicting a fatal blow to its military potential, Azerbaijan has eliminated a threat of fascism targeting the entire region and made a great contribution to humanity and the world civilization in general. On November 10, 2020, Armenia was forced to sign an act of capitulation as it happened as a result of World War II. Today, the whole world must look at the atrocities committed by Armenian vandals in our liberated territories, realize how our state is fighting against a terrible universal scourge, and understand the global significance of Azerbaijan's triumph in the Patriotic War.

Mr. President!

Your views on the occupation of Armenia and its war crimes you sounded in your pre-war and post-war diplomatic meetings and speeches in international forums, as well as in interviews with influential media outlets around the world, have played an important role in exposing Armenian fascism and undermining its ideological foundations. The analysis of the war and the post-war period shows that Azerbaijan has completely defeated Armenia not only on the military platform, but also in the field of information and diplomacy, and made it also face great losses on the moral and ideological front.

For nearly 30 years, Azerbaijan patiently participated in the negotiations to resolve the conflict through talks. The negotiations, mediated by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, did not yield any results. It is ridiculous and embarrassing for the co-chairs to talk about "negotiations" again after the conflict was resolved following the strong will of you and the people of Azerbaijan.

Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief!

Thanks to your courage and determination, the heroism of our martyrs and veterans, the unity and solidarity of our people, our lands have already been liberated from occupation. You have identified as one of the main goals the revival of our regions liberated from the military occupation of fascist Armenia, the restoration of life there, the transformation of Karabakh into one of the paradises of the world. We, the participants in the conference, declare that as the Organization of War, Labor and Armed Forces Veterans, we are ready to participate in the successful implementation of this high, sacred mission, to contribute to the revival of our native Karabakh and as, until today, our veterans are ready to support Your calls and be closely involved in the practical implementation of the challenges. We will never forget that we are indebted to you, as the chief architect of this victory, and to our army for our historical victory in the Patriotic War!

From now on, we will live as a victorious and triumphant people.
