Azerbaijan nearly doubles money transfers to Georgia

In January-September 2021, $64.2 million was transferred from Azerbaijan to Georgia, up 1.7-fold from the previous year, Report informs with reference to the National Bank of Georgia.

Over the past nine months, the money transfers from Georgia to Azerbaijan amounted to $14.4 million, 23% higher than a year earlier.

In September 2021, the money transfers from Azerbaijan to Georgia stood at $7.8, showing a 5.2% growth compared to a year ago. Azerbaijan’s share in total money transfers to Georgia made up 3.7%. 

In the reporting period, $1.8 million (+13%) was transferred from Georgia to Azerbaijan. 

Money transfers from abroad to Georgia amounted to $ 209.7 million, from Georgia to foreign counties totaled $29.2 million, respectively, up 8.8% and 16.6% from the previous years.
