Germany rejects asylum applications of 259 Azerbaijani citizens

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan seeking asylum in Germany in January-September this year has been announced, the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) told journalists.

During the first nine months of this year, 407 asylum applications were registered from Azerbaijani citizens. 174 of them applied for asylum for the first time and 233 for the second time.

Thus, decisions were made over 687 proceedings, the overall level of protection was 7.4%. 259 applicants were rejected, and they were warned to leave Germany voluntarily.

According to the BAMF, a total of 13,849 aliens applied for refugee status in September this year.
