US welcomes release of Armenian service members by Azerbaijan

The United States welcomes Azerbaijan's return of five Armenian servicemen, the State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs said on Twitter.

"We welcome Azerbaijan's December 29 return of five Armenian servicemembers who were detained on November 16, 2021," the bureau said.

On December 29, Azerbaijan, with the mediation of Hungary, handed over five Armenians to Armenia.
