"According to American strategists, NATO should try to turn Ukraine into an Afghanistan for Russia," Sergey Naryshkin, the head of Russia's foreign intelligence service, said, reported from RIA Novosti.
 
According to him, NATO wants to turn Ukraine into an Afghanistan for Russia: "It's obvious that the US strategy to turn Ukraine into Afghanistan for Russia has failed."

Naryshkin said that the US's main task is to prolong the conflict in Ukraine as much as possible: "The special military operations will put an end to Ukraine's attempts to become a Russophobic puppet state."
