Finland waiting for cessation of gas supplies from Russia on May 20-21

Russian gas supplies to Finland may end late on May 20, or May 21, reported from foreign media.

At the same time, the Finnish national gas distributor Gasum stated that it had received no information in this regard from either the Russian OOO Gazprom Export or the gas transportation organization.

Gasum reportedly prepared for such a development along with its customers and the authorities responsible for emergency supplies. In the summer of 2022, Finland hopes to supply gas from Estonia via the Balticconnector gas pipeline, but capacity constraints on this pipeline may complicate this task.

Earlier, Gasum didn’t accept the demand of the Russian side to switch to a new gas payment system - in rubles - the company intends to file a lawsuit in arbitration.
