Gas transit from Russia via Ukraine may grow up to 22.6%

The transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine on May 19 may amount to about 63.25 million cubic meters per day, reported from the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine.

Compared with the volume of 51.6 million cubic meters, which Gazprom supplied to Europe in transit through Ukraine on May 18, the growth of gas transportation could be 22.6%.

Gazprom supplies gas to Europe in transit through Ukraine through the Sudzha gas metering station.

At the maximum, applications from Europe reached 109.6 million cubic meters in early March.

On May 10, the GTS Operator of Ukraine announced that from May 11 it will stop gas transit to Europe through the Sohranivka station due to force majeure circumstances - the company cannot exercise control over the Novopskov border compressor station in the Luhansk region.
