Exchange gas prices in Europe rise 1.5%

Gas futures in Europe in the first hour of trading on August 17 rose by about 1.5% compared to August 16 settlement price and are above $2,400 per 1,000 cubic meters, reported from the London Stock Exchange ICE.

On August 16, the price stepped over $2,600, but by the close of trading they stopped at around $2,345 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Futures contracts for the supply of gas in September (according to the index of the largest European hub TTF) opened trading in the red, traded for $2,349.6 (-1.2% against August 16 settlement price of $2,378) and dropped in a few minutes to $2,313.5 (-2.7%), which remains the price low of the day.

However, a little later, prices switched to moderate growth, reaching a maximum of $2,437.1 (+2.5%) in the first hour of trading. Prices then settled at just above $2,410.
