Russia and Turkiye have already begun discussing the creation of a gas hub at the expert level, Russian Ambassador to Ankara Alexey Yerkhov said in an interview with the Turkish newspaper Dünya.

The diplomat emphasized that details are important in this issue. According to Yerkhov, the Russian embassy will be informed as soon as agreements are reached.

On October 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia could move gas transit from the Nord Streams to the Black Sea region and Turkiye.

A few days later, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that he had agreed with his Russian counterpart to create a gas hub in Turkiye to supply Europe with fuel.
