Gold prices rose on November 22 morning after falling by 0.8% on November 21,reported from the auction data.

The price of December futures for gold on the New York Comex rose by $6.45, or 0.37%, to $1,746.05 per troy ounce. December silver futures rose 1.44% to $21.172 an ounce.

The euro against the dollar rose to $1.0259 from the previous close of $1.0241, the dollar against the yen is reduced to 141.71 yen from 142.12 yen. The dollar index (the exchange rate against a basket of currencies of six US trading partners) fell by 0.21%, to 107.61 points.

The weakening of the US currency makes gold more affordable to buy it in another currency.

Traders also continue to expect the publication of the minutes of the November meeting of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) on November 23. The document may contain hints about what measures the regulator plans to take in the future, and the minutes may contain more details about economic forecasts.
