Exchange prices for gas in Europe drop by over 4%
Exchange gas prices in Europe on the last trading day of the week lost more than 4%, being slightly above $750 per thousand cubic meters, reported from the London Stock Exchange ICE.
February futures on the TTF index (the largest hub in Europe, located in the Netherlands) opened trading at $750.5 per thousand cubic meters (-5%). Then they amounted to $755.6 (-4.4%). The dynamics of quotations is based on the settlement price of the previous trading day - $790 per thousand cubic meters.
Prices fell below $700 on January 5 for the first time in 16 months - since September 10, 2021.
