EU commissioner: Europe & Azerbaijan united in work on ensuring energy security

The Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council is an opportunity to show that the EU and Azerbaijan stand united to work on ensuring energy security and stability, EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson tweeted.

"We are also laying the foundations of long-term sustainable energy partnership, which is centered on renewable energy & interconnections. Honored to open the 9th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council with President Aliyev in Azerbaijan. Our discussion takes place at the backdrop of global-level transformation of energy markets. And energy security is at the top of our minds.

The EU and Azerbaijan have very strong ties in energy, which have become even stronger over the past year,” she wrote.
