Azerbaijan, EU mull strategy of transition to 'green energy'

Azerbaijan and the European Union have exchanged views on the strategy of transition to "green energy".

The discussions took place during the meeting of Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov with the EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson, who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the of the 9th Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting and the 1st Green Energy Advisory Council Ministerial meeting held in Baku. 

The minister pointed out that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to relations with the European Union, that it is a reliable partner in ensuring energy security. He emphasized the importance of mutual visits and high-level meetings in the growing dynamics of relations.

At the meeting, the European Union noted Azerbaijan's great potential in the field of renewable energy production. The parties exchanged views on the strategy of transition to "green" energy, efficient use of resources and strengthening of partnership in the field of energy.
