New general director appointed to Socar Türkiye

Elchin Ibadov has been appointed the new General Director of SOCAR Türkiye.

Ibadov served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company's Oil Refining And Petrochemicals Business Unit prior to this appointment.

After graduating from the University of Illinois in Chicago, Ibadov began working as a research specialist at the World Trade Center in Chicago in 2002. Since 2003, after working in various positions at PwC for 11 years, he continued to work as financial director and CFO at STAR Oil Refinery between 2014 and 2019. Since November 2019, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer in Petkim, as well as in the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Business Unit, which includes STAR Refinery, Petkim, SOCAR Storage, and SOCAR Petroleum. Having completed various professional education and certificate programs at Harvard Business School, Elchin Ibadov is the author of several textbooks on economics, accounting, finance, international financial reporting standards, and financial auditing and is a permanent member of global financial and auditing organizations such as ACCA, ACFE, and IIA.

Zaur Gahramanov, who has been the chief executive officer of SOCAR Türkiye since 2016, has been appointed as an adviser to the president of SOCAR.
