Turkish lira falls in price against dollar

The dollar continued to rise against the Turkish lira on June 8, reported from the auction data.

The dollar exchange rate against the Turkish lira rose by 0.3% to 23.3174 lira per dollar from the previous close of 23.2478 lira. Earlier in the course of trading, the indicator reached a maximum of $23.5635, which became a new historical low for the Turkish currency.

The lira has been falling against the dollar since the end of May. During this period, the dollar rose against the Turkish currency by 16.7%.
