Gas prices in Europe fall 2.6%

Exchange prices for gas in Europe fell by 2.6% on September 15 morning, reported from the London ICE exchange.

October (nearest) futures on the TTF index (the biggest hub in Europe, located in the Netherlands) opened trading at $384.5 (-2.2%) per 1,000 cubic meters. Further, their cost amounted to $382.8 (-2.6%) per 1,000 cubic meters. The dynamics of quotes are based on the settlement price of the previous trading day - $393 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Prices are also affected by the strikes of workers at Chevron gas liquefaction plants in Australia, which began on September 8. Exchange prices for gas in Europe then increased by the end of the day by almost 6%.
