Finance minister: Additional revenues to be used to restore Azerbaijan’s Karabakh

Any additional revenues in Azerbaijan’s state budget will be used to restore the territories liberated from occupation if this doesn’t contradict the budget rule, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said during a discussion of the "State Budget Package of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024” at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

He noted that by the end of this year, expenses for the development of the Karabakh region over a three-year period will approach 12 billion manats ($7.058 billion).

"Initially, it was planned to allocate 7.4 billion manats for this, and additional income in the future. At the same time, funds saved in various government institutions are also allocated for these purposes. Thanks to this, these funds increased from 7.4 billion manats to 12 billion manats,” the minister added.
