2 political parties support Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for presidency

Two political parties of Azerbaijan have supported Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for the presidency.

The Umid party, chaired by Igbal Agazada, and the Law and Justice party, led by Ali Insanov, have announced their intention to support the candidate from the ruling New Azerbaijan Party in the upcoming elections.

The Law and Justice party said in a statement that the decision to support Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy in the December 7 elections was made unanimously at an extended meeting of the party, since the majority of its members declared their intention to vote for the re-election of the current head of state.

Early presidential elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for February 7, 2024.
