Number of women serving in Ukrainian army revealed

Today, the number of women serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of a contract or who are involved in certain categories of mobilization is about 45,000, Svetlana Kushnir, an analyst from Ukraine told.

She noted that due to the opportunities created by the new draft law, the number of women will naturally increase: " There has been a war in our country for 10 years. Those who died for the independence of Ukraine are irreplaceable. There are many of them. We would like the war to end as soon as possible. This is not only a matter for Ukraine but for the whole world. Ukraine, taking into account the combat experience, offers a certain security configuration. Today, our army has such experience in combat operations that many armies in the world do not have this experience. Today, the number of women in the country is equal to that of men."

According to the analyst, military commissariats are ready to register women.

"Especially because there are certain categories, for example, those with education in medicine or cyber security can become military personnel under contract. Mobilization for women and service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is voluntary. Our women have great strength and potential. They can cope with it," she said.
