Gas production from the Absheron offshore field in 2024 is expected at 1.5 billion cubic meters , reported from SOCAR.

"In 2024, gas production at the Absheron field is expected to amount to 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 523,000 tons of condensate,” the company said.

In total, since the start of production and as of May 1, 2024, 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas and 484,000 tons of condensate have been produced at the field.

According to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, 0.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 0.3 million tons of condensate were produced from the Absheron field in 2023. Thus, in 2024, gas production from this field will increase by 87.5%, condensate - by 74.3%.

TotalEnergies and SOCAR announced on July 10, 2023, the start of production as part of the first phase of development of the Absheron field.

Production is carried out as part of the first stage of production from the Absheron field. The gas is intended for the domestic market of Azerbaijan.

At the initial stage, approximately 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas will be produced from the field annually, and in the future - 5 billion cubic meters.

The reserves of the Absheron field amount to 350 billion cubic meters. This is the second largest gas field in the Caspian Sea after the Shah Deniz field.
