Azerbaijan loses another soldier near Karabakh

The Azerbaijani army has lost another soldier near the contact line with Armenian forces occupying Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Soldier Sahil Tarlanli died of a gunshot wound in unknown circumstances, the Defense Ministry said, adding that the incident s being investigated.

At least 13 Azeri and six Armenian soldiers have been killed since tensions escalated a week ago.

President Ilham Aliyev today visited Agdam District and met servicemen, Yeni Musavat newspaper reported, citing its own correspondent in the district.

President Aliyev is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi at the end of the week. He may also meet the Armenian president, Serzh Sargsyan.
