Trade turnover in Baku up by 5%

In January-August 2024, the volume of trade turnover in Baku amounted to just over 21.5 billion manats ($12.64 billion), 5% more compared to the corresponding period of 2023, reported from the Baku City Statistical Department.

The value of food products, beverages, and tobacco products sold in the trade network increased by 4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, reaching 11.72 billion manats ($6.89 billion), while the volume of non-food products increased by 6.2%, amounting to 9.798 billion ($5.76 billion).

Some 37.2% of consumer products were sold in enterprises with legal entity status, 47.8% in trade facilities belonging to individual entrepreneurs, and 15% in the capital's product markets.
