Slovakia is actively working on diversifying its gas supply by exploring the option of importing gas from Azerbaijan, a source in Slovakian Ministry of Economy told.

"Negotiations with Azerbaijani officials, including talks on expanding gas production and exports to Europe, demonstrate Slovakia's commitment to securing new energy sources," the source said.

It also noted that Slovakia's gas storage facilities are currently full, and the country is connected to the gas systems of all neighboring states, allowing for alternative gas delivery routes, which reduces Bratislava's dependence on Russian gas supplied via Ukraine.

"Negotiations with Azerbaijani officials, including talks on expanding gas production and exports to Europe, demonstrate Slovakia's commitment to securing new energy sources," the statement says.
