Von der Leyen: New EU foreign service chief known for pro-Ukrainian position

Kaja Kallas, who has been nominated as a candidate for the post of EU High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy, is known for her pro-Ukrainian position, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who was re-elected for a second term, said at the European Parliament, reported from foreign media.

Kallas replaces Josep Borrell in this position.

The Council of the European Union approved the list of 27 European Commissioners proposed by the EC President.
