US’ proposals on Gaza not worth considering — Erdogan

US’ proposals on Gaza not worth considering — Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has slammed the United States’ proposals on the Gaza Strip as not worthy of being looked at, reported from TASS.

"From our point of view, there is nothing deserving attention or discussion in the proposals on Gaza that have been advanced by the new American administration under the pressure form the Zionist lobby. They are nothing but attempts to stir things up in Gaza," he said ahead of his Asian tour where he plans to visit Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan.

According to the Turkish leader, Hamas "is keeping its word" and is implementing the ceasefire agreement. "Assistance is already coming to the Gaza Strip, although it is still not enough. But, regrettably, we see that the Israeli administration is hatching sinister and inhumane plans instead of ensuring a permanent ceasefire," he said.

US President Donald Trump said after his talks with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on February 4 that Washington was considering long-term ownership of the Gaza Strip in order to develop it for the sake of peace in the Middle East. Also, he proposed resettling Palestinians from the enclave to other countries in the region, which he said could pay for it. Trump also indicated that the US is ready to send its troops to Gaza if necessary.
