Red Hearts Foundation's environmental initiative continues: 100 kg of batteries collected

The Red Hearts Foundation continues to implement projects that contribute to protecting the environment. Within the framework of the “Recycle batteries, protect nature” project, organized jointly with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the foundation has successfully carried out another environmental initiative. During the campaign, eco-volunteers collected over 100 kilograms of used batteries and delivered them to the LLC Təhlükəli Tullantılar (“Harmful Waste”).

The collected waste was gathered from collection points located at “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC, “Baku White City” Business Center, Baku European Lyceum, “Araz” supermarket chain’s Space and Khatai branches, as well as the “Bravo” hypermarket in Ahmedli.

It should be noted that the project, which has been implemented since 2022, aims to separate unusable batteries from other waste, thereby minimizing their harmful impact on the environment and human health. Additionally, the initiative seeks to promote environmental awareness and emphasize the importance of proper waste management. As part of the project, containers have been placed in state institutions, companies, supermarkets, educational institutions, bank branches, and hotels across Baku and the regions. The aim of the project is to raise public awareness towards environmental issues and draw attention to the importance of recycling waste.

“Red Hearts” was founded in December 2019 at the initiative of Kapital Bank employees. The organization, which operates as a foundation from 2020, mainly contributes to the formation of a culture of philanthropy in our country. Addressing sensitive and important issues such as environmental protection, ecological balance restoration, education, training, and enlightenment, "Red Hearts" engages in social initiatives.
