The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has announced that several flights will be canceled at Istanbul's major airports on February 19 and 21 due to anticipated snowfall and the risk of icing.

Reported from Turkish media that the decision was made during an emergency meteorological committee meeting held at the crisis centers of Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

Istanbul Airport, one of the busiest airports in Europe, typically handles an average of 1,000 flights per day. However, authorities have confirmed that approximately 150 flights will be canceled on February 19, while around 200 flights will be grounded on February 21.

Sabiha Gokcen Airport, located on the Asian side of Istanbul, will also reduce its operations by 10%. Pegasus Airlines has announced the cancellation of 46 flights on February 19 and 68 flights on February 21. Similarly, Ajet will cancel 22 flights on February 19 and 34 flights on February 21.
