The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) will vaccinate about 600,000 children in the Gaza Strip due to the spread of the poliovirus.

Reported from Qatar's Al Jazeera TV channel that the campaign will run from February 22 to 26 and will cover more than 591,000 children under the age of 10. A WHO study showed that 88% of samples taken from different areas of the Gaza Strip detected the presence of the virus, which is spreading rapidly in unsanitary conditions due to destroyed infrastructure.
