SOCAR Green, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), is focused on supporting the decarbonization of the country’s energy sector, its director Elmir Musayev said on Monday.

Speaking at an event in Baku titled "Innovative Pathways to a Greener Future: Renewable Energy and Emission Reduction", Musayev said the company’s main goals include developing renewable energy projects and helping reduce emissions at SOCAR’s oil and gas facilities.

“We coordinate with various SOCAR divisions to explore decarbonization opportunities,” he said, adding that SOCAR Green is also in talks with several industrial enterprises in Azerbaijan to identify potential areas of cooperation.
