Azerbaijan’s average annual inflation at 5.6% in Q1

Azerbaijan’s average annual inflation reached 5.6% in the first quarter of 2025, according to the State Statistics Committee.

Food, beverages, and tobacco prices rose by 5.7%, services by 7.8%, and non-food goods by 2.7%.

In March, inflation stood at 0.6% compared to February. Food prices rose by 1.2%, non-food goods by 0.1%, and services by 0.2%.

The highest price increases were recorded for fish, dairy products, vegetable oils, fruits, vegetables, nuts, coffee, bottled water, and cigarettes. Prices fell for flour, eggs, greens, and cucumbers. Among non-food goods, construction materials, furniture and jewelry rose in price, while electronics such as TVs and mobile phones saw slight declines.

Year-on-year inflation for March was 5.9%, with food prices up 6.5%, services 7.5%, and non-food goods 2.8%.

In 2024, Azerbaijan’s average annual inflation was 2.2%. The inflation forecast for 2025 is 4.6%.
