Azerbaijan accuses France of moral collapse in foreign policy

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has accused France of promoting neo-colonialism and interfering in the South Caucasus, urging Paris to abandon its “so-called civilizing mission.”
In a statement responding to a post by the French Embassy that repeated the foreign minister’s remarks on the peace process between Baku and Yerevan and Azerbaijan’s legal proceedings, ministry spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada said France should instead address its colonial legacy in overseas territories and Africa.
"French neo-colonialism exploits local populations and resources, prioritizing French interests over the well-being of others, while creating long-term instability and ethnic tensions," Hajizada said. "France’s foreign policy reflects the moral collapse of its so-called civilizing mission," he added.
