Bayramov says meeting with Mirzoyan in Antalya was productive

Meeting with the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on the sidelines of the diplomatic forum in Antalya last week was quite productive, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint conference with his Slovenian counterpart Tanja Fajo, Report informs.
Bayramov reminded that Azerbaijan has always been and remains an advocate for peaceful settlement, and it was Baku that initiated negotiations on a peace treaty.
"I believe that the meeting with my Armenian colleague was quite productive. Yes, perhaps we were unable to find common ground on some issues. However, it should be noted that we took advantage of the opportunities provided by the Antalya forum and discussed key points, exchanged views. We once again confirmed that we are advocates for peace and peaceful coexistence," said Bayramov.
According to him, the meeting with Mirzoyan was important as it was the first one after the parties reached an agreement on the text of the peace treaty.
On March 13, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced the completion of negotiations with Armenia on the text of a peace treaty.
