Zangazur Corridor to boost Turkic world’s role in Middle Corridor -Turkish envoy

The opening of the Zangazur Corridor, along with a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, will greatly enhance the transport and economic potential of the Turkic world within the China-to-Europe Middle Corridor, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün said in an interview with Anadolu Agency.
“The current trade volume between Türkiye and Azerbaijan stands at $6.5 billion. Our goal is to raise this to $15 billion within 3 to 5 years through deeper integration,” Akgün said.
The ambassador stressed the strategic importance of Turkish-Azerbaijani relations under the motto "one nation – two states," highlighting Türkiye’s strong support for Azerbaijan during the Second Karabakh War.
He also pointed to the involvement of Turkish companies in Karabakh’s reconstruction and emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation in both economic and cultural spheres.
