Azerbaijan expands transport infrastructure amid rising cargo volumes

Azerbaijan has completed the necessary infrastructure for the North-South transport corridor and is now expanding its transport capabilities to meet growing cargo demands, President Ilham Aliyev said during a joint press statement with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

"Today, we naturally discussed trilateral cooperation projects. Among them, the North-South transport corridor holds a special place," Aliyev said.

He emphasized that the project would bring significant benefits to all participating countries, noting that Azerbaijan had fulfilled all its obligations regarding infrastructure on its territory.

"Currently, we are simply expanding our transport capabilities and infrastructure, considering the increasing cargo volumes," the Azerbaijani president added.
