Vance says Ukraine cannot defeat Russia if war drags on
29.04.2025 12:30

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said Ukraine will not be able to win the war against Russia if fighting continues over the coming years.

Vance made the comments in an interview with Charlie Kirk on his podcast, also discussing the recent meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He said mainstream media are promoting the view that Kyiv could hold out and eventually reclaim lost territories, but "this is not the reality we are living in."

Vance also warned that a prolonged conflict could increase the risk of nuclear escalation by Russia.

"This must stop. The president’s administration is doing everything possible to achieve peace, and I am personally working actively on this at the president’s direction," he added.
