Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan launch talks on new double taxation treaty

Azerbaijan’s State Tax Service and Kazakhstan’s State Revenue Committee have launched negotiations on a new draft convention aimed at eliminating double taxation and preventing tax evasion on income and property, the Azerbaijani tax authority said.
The existing agreement between the two countries was signed in September 1996 and came into force on January 1, 1998. In April 2017, the two sides signed a protocol amending the treaty to remove clauses related to property taxation. That protocol took effect on January 1, 2019.
