Nakhchivan healthcare institutions placed under Ministry of Health

The first deputy chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Bakhtiyar Mammadov, has signed a decree reforming the region’s healthcare system.
Under the decree, all medical institutions previously overseen by the Nakhchivan Medical Institutions Management Union (TƏBİB) will now fall under the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Health.
The document also redistributes founding and supervisory responsibilities among the chairman of the Supreme Assembly, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Ministry of Health.
The decree outlines the restructuring of institutions, appointment of leadership, and approval of new charters, while requiring the legal framework to be aligned with the new regulations. The changes are to be implemented within three months.
