Iran preparing to host Putin for official visit

Iran has begun preparations for an official visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said on Monday.

“The trip is currently being planned, and preparations are underway,” she said.

In April, Putin signed a law ratifying the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Iran. The agreement was originally signed during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Moscow in January.

Pezeshkian said the deal reflects both nations' resolve to resist foreign interference.
