Azerbaijan did not export oil to Israel in the first four months of 2025, despite the country being one of Baku's top clients a year earlier, according to customs data. Israel was not listed among importers in the State Customs Committee's latest report.

Meanwhile, Italy significantly increased purchases, importing 4.4 million tonnes of crude worth $2.45 billion. In April alone, Italy bought a record 1.4 million tonnes for $750 million.

Overall oil exports from Azerbaijan totaled 8.2 million tonnes worth $4.56 billion, up from 6.93 million tonnes and $4.37 billion during the same period in 2024. Italy, the UK, and Romania remained the country’s most consistent customers.

Natural gas exports reached 8.16 billion cubic meters, valued at $3.07 billion. Combined oil and gas export revenue amounted to $7.72 billion, or 87.8% of Azerbaijan’s total exports.

Polyethylene exports declined slightly to 39,400 tonnes from 43,200 tonnes last year, but revenue rose to $46 million, reflecting stronger global demand.

SOCAR Methanol also reported growth, exporting 121,700 tonnes of methanol worth $36.7 million, up from $29.18 million earned on 148,000 tonnes during the same period in 2024.

Among SOCAR subsidiaries, SOCAR Carbamide posted the strongest results, exporting 215,700 tonnes of fertilizer worth $63.5 million, compared to 171,000 tonnes worth $33 million last year.
