Aliyev aide meets EU official

Hikmet Hajiyev, foreign policy aide to the president of Azerbaijan, met with Belén Martínez Carbonell, Secretary-General of the EU External Action Service.

In a post on social media platform X, the EU official said the two discussed EU–Azerbaijan relations, the bloc’s support for normalization with Armenia, and regional developments.

“The EU remains committed to peace and progress in the region,” Carbonell said.
