Azerbaijani oil to be added to Czech state reserves

Azerbaijani oil will officially be added to the Czech Republic's state reserves in June, Tomas Pojar, deputy national security adviser, said at the Baku Energy Forum.
“Czechia is the second-largest importer of Azerbaijani oil after Italy, and it plays an important role in the country’s energy balance,” Pojar said. He added that energy security in any EU country depends not only on supply sources but also on delivery routes, stressing the importance of diversified energy cooperation and renewable energy.
Prague currently imports an average of 2-2.5 million tonnes of oil from Baku annually and plans to boost purchases in the Mediterranean region, officials said.
